Fire in Temple’s 1st Due

At 1020 hours, the structure fire assignment was struck for a reported fire from a rear of a residence in the 5100 block of Allentown Pike. Chief & Assistant 11 arrived with smoke pushing from the rear of the residence. E11 arrived and stretched a line. Crews found a fire to the exterior of house from the fire place. Fire dropped out the fire box onto rubber mulch. Crews opened up the wall to check for extension as smoke was pushing from the wall. The fire was quickly contained and the assignment was eventually released.
