On Easter Sunday, MTFR members spent a major part of the day away from their families. First we were on the initial dispatch for what turned out to be a 2nd alarm fire. Crews from MTFR arrived at the address of the dispatch to find the source of the fire and a fast moving fire. We went into operation with x2 lines off Engine 66. A total of 650 feet of hose was used. Central of Laureldale provided a water supply for us as we were about 500 feet from the main road which never was compromised and we had endless water. The Blandon came into the fire from the back side and found numerous trailers of fire. All crews from numerous departments and the DCNR worked and contained the fire which ended up consuming 3 acers of wooded area.
Once we returned to station and got all our equipment back in service, we were dispatched to Richmond Twp for a 2nd alarm structure fire as the RIT team. Our members responded and stood by. Before being released, members made entry into the structure and helped open up walls and ceilings checking for hot spots.
